I'm so glad you're here visiting my site! One of my favorite things about being a photographer is sharing my work with others. I create to communicate. I want you to look at my photos and see something familiar about my subjects, even if you've never met them before. I hope they make you laugh, smile, and fall in love, as if you're there in those captured moments.

I love photos that make me feel something, and remind me of how unique each person is. For that reason, I try to avoid traditional poses, and I aim to capture unique, beautiful, happy people, being themselves. I look for - and often create - opportunities to capture relaxed, natural, candid portraits: people being themselves.

I'd love to get to know you, and for you to get to know me. I'll start by sharing a little about myself, and if you're interested you can send me a message at the bottom of this page to let me know more about you.

First of all, I love Jesus. He defines the type of person I want to be: from how I view myself to how I view the world. I'm bashful when I can be, but I don't have much time for that anymore. I like to be challenged, I love change, and I think I can do just about anything I put my heart to.

I probably spend too much time in front of a computer, but I try to find ways to balance it out by being active. I play soccer, run, cycle, and occasionally lay down the law at laser tag :-)

I love to cook... but only when I'm cooking for others. I love learning new recipes, and I love variety; I make everything from spicy Thai curry to fancy French cuisine.

I'm not married, but I love the idea of marriage. I don't have kids, but I love the idea of family :-) and I hope I have the opportunity to adopt someday. I am pretty close to my own family. I'm the oldest child of four, by ten years, and I love the amazing adults all of my siblings are. My family is full of dysfunction, but our love for one another always wins.

I took the long road to photography. I graduated from the University of California, San Diego, with a degree in Mathematics. I went to Ethiopia, and realized I would probably never use my degree. So, I became a youth pastor in Northern California for four years - a job built around relationship. My love for photography grew out of a personal interest in documenting people and places. I try to travel when I can, and I always make it into a "photo adventure." So far I've been to Japan, India, China, Ethiopia, Mexico, Malta, Spain, Italy, France, and all over the U.S.

I love to create, but I realize that my photography is really just my unique perception and presentation of what already exists. I don't expect everyone to love my work or even to connect with my style, but I LOVE working with those who do.
