I'm so glad you're here visiting my site! One of my favorite things about being a photographer is sharing my work with others. I create to communicate. I want you to look at my photos and see something familiar about my subjects, even if you've never met them before. I hope they make you laugh, smile, and fall in love, as if you're there in those captured moments.

I love photos that make me feel something, and remind me of how unique each person is. For that reason, I try to avoid traditional poses, and I aim to capture unique, beautiful, happy people, being themselves. I look for - and often create - opportunities to capture relaxed, natural, candid portraits: people being themselves.

First of all, I love Jesus. He defines who I want to be: from how I view myself to how I view the world. I'm bashful when I can be, but I don't have much time for that anymore. I like to be challenged, I love change, and I think I can do just about anything I put my heart into.

I probably spend too much time in front of a computer, but I try to find ways to balance it out by being active. I play soccer, run, cycle, and occasionally lay down the law at laser tag :-)

I love to cook... but only when I'm doing it for friends or family. I especially love learning how to cook, and I'm always trying new recipes (thanks to epicurious.com :-) It doesn't matter if its spicy Thai curry, or fancy French cuisine, as long as I'm learning something new.

I'm not married, but I love the idea of marriage. I don't have kids, but I love the idea of family :-) and I hope I have the opportunity to adopt someday. I am pretty close to my own family. I'm the oldest child of four, by ten years, and I love the amazing adults all of my siblings are. My family is full of dysfunction, but our love for one another always wins.

I took the long road to photography. I graduated from the University of California, San Diego, with a degree in Pure Mathematics (seriously, how goofy is that?). I went to Ethiopia, and realized I would probably never use my degree. So, I became a youth pastor in Northern California for four years - a job built around relationship. My love for photography grew out of a personal interest in documenting people and places (including Japan, Ethiopia, Mexico, and the Mediterranean).

I love to create, but I realize that my photography is really just my unique perception and presentation of what already exists. I don't expect everyone to love my photography, or even to connect with my style, but I LOVE working with those who do.
